Valerie Spina (b. Vienna, VA; lives and works in Boulder, CO) is a multidisciplinary artist who moves fluently among photography, collage, and painting. Her practice traces a living circuit between body and technology, using image making as both a spiritual exercise and excavation of cultural and self.

At the core of her work is an erotic gaze. Spina photographs lovers and strangers with the same reverence, treating sensual energy not as spectacle but as a conduit to heightened presence—a devotional path toward self‑knowing. These images, often re‑explored with ink, acrylic, and scraps of personal ephemera become multimedia collages.

Trained in the foundations of fine art at Virginia Commonwealth University before earning a B.A. in Political Science, Spina has spent the last decade bridging art studios and blockchain boardrooms.

Spina’s exhibitions include “Idea. Line. Process.” at Art Gym Denver (2024) and Colorado Artists in Recovery (2023). She is the 2023 recipient of the Eric Porter Scholarship & Residency at Art Gym Denver, and her hybrid project Energy & Node won first place in the Colorado Track at ETHDenver 2022 for reimagining power grids on blockchains.
